A literary society open to anyone with an interest in the life and times, the writings, and the continuing influence of the great nineteenth century English author, Charles Dickens.

Members are drawn from across NSW, Australia, and from all age groups, backgrounds and walks of life. Events and meetings are primarily located in Sydney.

We are an affiliate of the International Dickens Fellowship.

Our activities include:

Regular Meetings

Meetings on a Saturday morning every second month, with a speaker on a Dickens topic of interest, and social lunch following

Annual Gathering

Annual gathering at the Dickens statue in Sydney’s Centennial Park on his birthday, 7th February

Annual Excursion & Christmas Lunch

Annual Dickens-themed excursion in July and Christmas lunch in December

Newsletters and Magazine

Newsletter (“Household Words”) and annual magazine (“Boz in Oz”)

Writing Competition

Writing competition, “The Huffam Prize” (for articles on Charles Dickens related topics)

Book of the Year
